We are looking for a motivated and collaborative Paralegal to join our Montréal office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare documents and forms required for the prosecution of patent applications and the registration of industrial designs in Canada, the United States, WIPO, and abroad through foreign associates;
  • File patent applications with the relevant authorities;
  • Communicate with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and other relevant foreign authorities to obtain information related to a patent application or patent;
  • Communicate regularly with clients and associates (information sharing, confirmations, follow-ups, and inquiries);
  • Provide cost estimates to clients;
  • Monitor files and manage deadlines;
    Conduct legal research (using both traditional tools and electronic databases) and draft memoranda;
  • Perform any other related tasks in connection with patents.

Requirements and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration or another relevant field;
  • Experience in an administrative role;
  • Excellent command of both French and English, spoken and written;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Experience in patents or intellectual property (an asset);

 

  • Strong sense of autonomy and organization;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Adaptability;
  • Ability to manage priorities.
