We are looking for a motivated and collaborative Patent Paralegal to join our Montreal office. You will be part of a close-knit team of eight paralegals, under the supervision of the Patent Department Manager.

Job Responsibilities
- Prepare documents and forms required for patent prosecution and industrial design registration in Canada, the United States, CIPO, and abroad through foreign associates
- File patent applications with various authorities
- Communicate with the Canadian Patent Office and other relevant authorities abroad to obtain information related to a patent application or patent
- Communicate regularly with clients and foreign associates (information sharing, confirmations, follow-ups, and inquiries)
- Provide cost estimates to clients
- Monitor files and manage deadlines
- Conduct legal research (using traditional tools and electronic databases) and draft memoranda
- Perform any other related tasks associated with patents.
Education and skill requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in administration or any other relevant field
- Work experience in an administrative role
- Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written
- Proficiency in Word and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in patents or intellectual property (an asset)
- Autonomy and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Adaptability
- Ability to manage priorities.
