About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Information Technology team on a 6-month contract in Sydney.

Our IT team is delivering a complex, multi-year pipeline of work across business systems, cyber security, practice management and IT operations. This role will help ensure our technology solutions are well aligned to business needs and deliver strong business outcomes.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), you will provide hands-on business analysis support across priority projects and initiatives, while also helping strengthen business analysis capability and practices across the IPH Group.

Your initial focus will be on establishing consistent requirements management practices, supporting projects where requirements are contributing to delivery risk, and documenting priority EPMO processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the elicitation, analysis, documentation and validation of business, functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop and embed practical standards, templates and guidance for requirements management across IPH.
  • Review requirements and analysis for at-risk projects, identifying gaps and ambiguity and establishing a clear requirements baseline.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions with business and technical stakeholders to understand needs, resolve ambiguity and build agreement.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements that enable Architecture, Development and other technical teams to design appropriate solutions.
  • Assess current-state business processes, identify opportunities for improvement and develop future-state process models where required.
  • Support project teams to define and maintain clear scope, assumptions, dependencies and requirements priorities.
  • Support the development of acceptance criteria, use cases and test scenarios to ensure solutions can be validated against agreed requirements.
  • Develop and uplift business analysis artefacts, including requirements specifications, process maps, user stories, business rules, test scripts and operational handover documentation.

About You

You will be an experienced Senior Business Analyst who can quickly step into complex projects, bring structure to ambiguity and build strong relationships across business and technology teams.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience as a Senior Business Analyst within complex organisations and technology-enabled projects.
  • Strong experience establishing or improving requirements management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with unclear or incomplete requirements and quickly bring structure and clarity.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation and traceability skills.
  • Experience working across business and technical teams, including Architecture, Development and Testing.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong process mapping and business process analysis capability.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or priorities simultaneously.
  • The ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience within legal, consulting or professional services environments will be highly regarded.
  • A Business Analysis certification such as CBAP or PMI-PBA will be advantageous.
